It was a great privilege to learn about this beautiful part of the world with Barbara and Christoph Promberger. Their vision for the Foundation they have created to protect and sustain it and what they have achieved is phenomenal. Riding round the meadows and hills behind Barbara on my fabulous steed Aida was one of the most exhilarating moments of my life! The flora and abundance of insect life were heaven and we had unexpectedly close encounters with bears, beavers and bison and felt the lurking presence of wolves, lynx and boar. The ecosystem of the Făgăraș Mountains is alive and well and how lucky I was to explore it in the care of JWP.
