Hannah Richards

Travel Operations Specialist

Growing up amongst the mountains, forests and waterfalls of the Brecon Beacons, Hannah developed a lifelong love of the outdoors and a passion for exploring wild places.

From an early age, she was drawn to adventure, and today is happiest hiking remote trails, climbing dramatic rock faces or surfing rugged coastlines, believing that the most meaningful journeys are those that immerse us in nature.

Beginning her career in graphic design and events, Hannah discovered a passion for creating memorable experiences before making the move into adventure travel. Combining creativity with meticulous planning, she found the perfect way to help others discover extraordinary destinations while fostering a deeper appreciation for the landscapes, cultures and communities they encounter.

Now based in Portugal, Hannah embraces an outdoor lifestyle, spending much of her free time surfing the Atlantic coastline and climbing the country’s spectacular crags. As part of the Journeys With Purpose team, she enjoys crafting transformative journeys that connect guests with remarkable people, places and conservation projects, inspiring a lasting connection with the natural world.

HIGHLIGHTED TRAVEL MOMENTS

Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is one of my favourite destinations for the warmth and generosity of its people. I loved spending time with local communities and experiencing the country’s rich culture, while its world-class surf breaks and laid-back coastal atmosphere make it the perfect place to combine adventure with meaningful cultural connections.

South Africa

South Africa captivated me with its incredible wildlife and unforgettable outdoor experiences. Shark diving was a particular highlight, offering a rare opportunity to witness these remarkable predators in their natural environment and gain a new appreciation for the country’s extraordinary marine ecosystems.

OUR FOCUS - THE IBERÁ NATIONAL PARK:

This extraordinary wetland, the largest in Argentina, is home to 30% of the biodiversity in the country including endangered species such as the pampas and marsh deer, the maned wolf and grassland birds like the strange-tailed tyrant.

In 2005, what was to become one of the largest rewilding programs in the Americas was started, with the goal of restoring keystone species that had been extirpated from Iberá through hunting and habitat loss and were extinct in the region, the Province or, in some cases, the country.

As the rewilding program developed, the cultural identity of Iberá began to recover alongside the ecosystems and natural processes, impacting a total population of 100,000 people who surround the park.

Today, Iberá stands as one of the world’s most successful ongoing conservation missions.
